How To Make Ogbono Soup: Method 1

If you want your Ogbono Soup to be done without any oil, this will be good for you.
All you need to do is throw in the ingredients and cook together.
How To Make Ogbono Soup: Ingredients
Goat meat (beef, chicken, sea foods)
½ cup of grinded Ogbono
Stock fish
Smoked catfish
Crayfish – 3 tsp
Scotch bonnet (Rodo) – 2
Onions – 1
Palm oil.
How To Make Ogbono Soup: Preparation
Wash your goats thoroughly. Season and boil till its soft.
Leave the goat meat inside the stock water.
Set aside.
Watch your stock fish. Boil till its soft. Debone and set aside
Soak the smoked catfish in hot water for few minutes.
Wash and debone. Set aside
Wash and chop your onions. Set aside.
You can blend your Ogbono yourself at home or in the local markets. You can blend with small dry red pepper if you wish.
Place pots of goat meat back on fire and allow it to heat up a bit.
Add your stock fish, smoked catfish, chopped pepper, onions, crayfish, and Palm oil.
Stir to combine. Cover and allow it to cook together for few minutes.
Add 1 small stock cube, stir to combine for few seconds. Add your grinded Ogbono.
Stir to combine. You can add more Ogbono if you desire.
Allow it to cook for a few minutes. Once done you can take it with any swallow of your choice.
How To Make Ogbono Soup: Frying method
This method is a very rich one as it includes okro.
It’s a very delicious and rich one. You can decide to exclude the okro if you so wish.
You need to taste this before you do that.
How To Make Ogbono Soup: Ogbono and okro soup.
Ingredients
Chicken
Blended Ogbono – ½ cup
Okro
Dry fish
Stock fish
Scotch bonnet – 2
Onions – 1
Cray fish – 3 tsp
Locust beans
Stock cube – 1
Chicken stock
Palm oil
Pumpkin leaves (or any vegetable of your choice)
How To Make Ogbono Soup: Preparation
Wash the chicken very well. Season according to your preference.
Boil for a few minutes.
Wash the okro. Blend, grate or chop. Set aside
Soak the dry fish in hot water for few minutes.
Wash and debone. Set aside.
Boil your stock fish for a few minutes.
Clean and debone. Set aside
Wash and chop the pepper. Set aside
Wash and chop the onions. Set aside
Rinse the vegetables.
Chop and rinse again. Set aside.
Place pot on the fire. Heat oil for few seconds, add the onions, add Ogbono.
Stir together until the Ogbono dissolves. Add the chopped peppers.
Stir together for a few minutes.
Add stock water (you can use ordinary water if you don’t have stock water). Stir together to combine. Allow it to cook for a few minutes.
Add your chicken, stock fish, and stir together, add your crayfish, seasoning cube, dry fish. Stir together. Add a little salt.
Stir together. Allow it cook for 4 minutes.
Add your chopped okro. Stir together to combine and allow it to cook for few minutes.
Add your Ugwu leaves and stir again. Put off the heats after 1 minute.
How To Make Ogbono Soup: Ogbono and Egusi recipe
This recipe is not so common. But really you might try it out. You won’t regret it one bit.

Blended Ogbono
Blended Egusi
Beef
Dry fish
Stockfish
Scotch bonnet 2
Onions
Scotch bonnet
Stock cube
Salt to taste
Palm oil
Crayfish
Meat stock
Pumpkin leaves
How To Make Ogbono Soup: Preparation
Wash the beef thoroughly. Season and boil for few minutes. Set aside
Boil the stockfish for few minutes till softs.
Wash, debone and set aside.
Soak the dry fish in hot water for a few minutes.
Clean, debone and set aside.
Add a little water to the Egusi and make it into a paste
Pour into the pot to parboil for 8 minutes on a very low heat. Set aside
Wash and chop the peppers. Set aside
Wash and chop onions. Set aside
Rinse and wash vegetables. Chop and rinse again.
Set aside for a few minutes.
Place the pots on the fire, pour oil and allow it to heat up for few seconds. Add the onions.
Let it fry for a few seconds. Add your Ogbono and stir till it dissolves.
Pour the meat stock (use water if it’s not available), add the chopped pepper, stock cube, crayfish and cooked Egusi.
Stir together and allow it to cook for 10 minutes.
Add the beef, stockfish. Stir together.
Cover and allow it to cook for 8 minutes.
Check the taste, add a little salt. Stir together and add the pumpkin leaves. Stir together to combine. Allow it simmer for 2 minutes.
You can take with any of the Ogbono Soup with any swallow of your choice.
